UC Blue Ash: New Student Group Application

Starting a New Group

Students wishing to create a new student organization with the University of Cincinnati-Blue Ash College must complete the following procedures before they can begin to receive the privileges and benefits of a recognized student group. 

The Student Life team is available to assist with any student interested in starting a new student group.

New Student Group Steps

  1. Complete the New Student Group Application, which includes the following information/details:
    • Group Name and Mission
    • Group Roster (minimum 10 current students)
    • Identification of Faculty/Staff Advisor
    • Group Constitution
    • Group By-laws
  2. Set up a time with a member of the Student Life team to review the application and provide any additional information requested.
  3. New applications will be reviewed the first Tuesday of each month by the Student Life staff.
  4. A representative of Student Life will contact the student who submitted the application and the faculty/staff advisor to inform them of the decision.
    • If yes, the group will become officially recognized.
    • If no, the group will need to make the necessary changes to their application and resubmit the application for review.
  5. Once an group becomes officially recognized, the Officer Acknowledgment and Advisor Agreement forms will be sent out for completion.

Items to note

  • While the group may meet informally to engage in activities to grow the organization (recruit additional members, generate program/event ideas, etc.) groups in the approval process will not be allowed to use the University name, host events, or participate in activities reserved for recognized groups.

  • Applications may be submitted on a rolling basis.

All student organizations desiring use of the University name, college facilities, space or seeking funding from any University resource, must complete this form submit it.

Please be aware that portions of this form, such as your organization’s contact information and description, will be posted on the Student Life website and may be in other publications shared with UC Blue Ash College students.
